Manuel Corpas PhD
Chief ScientistSince the start of his career Manuel has focused on the human genome, and was one of the first people to sequence his own genome and those of close family members. At the Sanger Institute in Cambridge he developed methods for integration, visualisation and analysis of genomic data, and was also a Scientific Programmer at the European Bioinformatics Institute. In addition, he has led research on animal and plant genomes at the Genome Analysis Centre and was Scientific Lead at Repositive, a startup specialised in sharing and storing genomes of different types. As well as his work at Cambridge Precision Medicine, Manuel is a Tutor at the University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education and also teaches online courses in precision medicine in both English and Spanish.
Manuel has over 50 peer reviewed scientific publications to his name, and a book, Perfect DNA, in which he explores the wider issues beyond the science of genetic sequencing. Manuel graduated in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Navarra, with a Masters and PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Manchester. Details of Manuel’s publications can be found here.

Edmund Lehmann
Chief ExecutiveEd set up and runs his own fund, investing in startup ventures where he has a particular interest and relevant experience to offer. He is an active member of the London Business Angels Network for angel investors. Ed spent most of his career in the energy industry, in commodities trading and business development at Shell and BG Group. He has greatly enjoyed the entrepreneurial roles he’s been lucky enough to hold, and developed expertise in adding the required commercial insights to technical teams.
Outside work, Ed is Chairman of the board of ReachOut, a mentoring charity helping to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people in inner cities in London, Manchester, Liverpool and Oldham. He is also an active supporter of the Roundhouse Trust. Ed holds the bilingual Masters in Business Administration from IESE Business School in Spain.

Dr Antonio Metastasio
Medical DirectorAntonio has a particular interest in genomics and personalised medicine. He has been pioneering the use of genetic tests in both research and clinical settings in psychiatry and addictions, where he has developed a unique expertise. Antonio’s most recent qualification is a Masters degree in Genomic Medicine at the University of Cambridge. He originally trained as a doctor in Psychiatry in Italy and completed a Masters degree in Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London.
Outside of his interest in genetics, Antonio practices in the field of mental health, working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in London at the Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. He has been a senior clinical Tutor at the University of Cambridge and is currently teaching medical students at UCL. He runs a private clinic at Cognacity 54 Harley Street, London and in Cambridge. Antonio has expertise in the main areas of adult psychiatry and is also a specialist in the treatment of addictions including alcohol, substance misuse disorders and behavioural addictions.
